First Day of School - Wednesday, August 13, 2025
We're excited to welcome students back for the 2025–26 school year! Our staff is ready to build the relationships that help every child succeed, and our schools look fantastic thanks to the hard work of our maintenance and custodial teams.
Transportation & Drop-Off
As with every new year, please have patience during the first few days. Bus routes, pick-up, and drop-off lines will take time to settle. Buses may run 10–15 minutes early or late until routes become established.
A Great Start
Our Opening Ceremony last week was energizing—staff reconnected, focused on our mission, and prepared to expect Excellence Every Day. As the fastest-growing district in Kansas, we're ready to show our community what that truly means!
From the Superintendent
This is my 40th year in education and 22nd as a superintendent. I'll communicate regularly throughout the year with updates on the great things happening in USD 230. Please reach out anytime with thoughts or questions. Here's to a wonderful school year (and hopefully zero snow days)!
NOTEWORTHY
Upcoming Road Projects
Please be aware that Miami County has an upcoming asphalt project that will start on Monday, August 18. This project will include work at the following locations:
223rd Street from Woodland Road to Metcalf Road (start date 8/18/25)
Metcalf Road from 215th Street to 271st Street
223rd Street from Metcalf Road to State Line Road
As this project progresses it will likely result in delays over the next several weeks. Please take this road work into account as you travel to and from school!
