Mother Nature Turned Up the Freezer |
We definitely experienced bitterly cold temperatures/wind chills the past couple of weeks, along with the snow. It will be interesting to see what Mother Nature has in store for us for the remainder of Winter. Once again, the cancellation of school is never an easy decision, and I do not take it lightly.
When it comes to weather-related decisions—snow, ice, extreme cold—there’s no exact science or perfect formula. Each situation requires reviewing the best information available and always keeping safety at the forefront.
I know a decision to cancel school impacts families in different ways, and I genuinely try to consider all perspectives. Yet, I also understand that not everyone will always agree with the eventual decision, and I totally understand. As February nears, I appreciate your patience, understanding, and partnership as we navigate Kansas weather together. |

Celebrating the 100th Day of School! |
|
|
Our elementary schools marked the 100th Day of School with fun, creative celebrations honoring 100 days of learning and growth. Students participated in themed activities, dressed up to look “100 years old,” completed 100-day projects, and reflected on how much they have learned so far this year. It was a joyful milestone that highlighted both academic progress and school spirit across our elementary buildings. |

As the month of January draws to a close I want to once more express my appreciation and thanks for our Board of Education. We are grateful for our Board of Education members who volunteer their time, lead with heart, and work year-round to support our students, staff, and community.
Also, January 28 was Board Clerk Appreciation Day and we are fortunate to have two of the best. We thank Rachel Henderson, Clerk of the Board, and Nicole McLaughlin, Deputy Clerk, for their exceptional service and dedication to Spring Hill Schools! |
