Student-Led Conferences

Thank you to all of our parents and families who took the time to attend Student-Led Conferences! Your presence and support mean so much to our students and staff. These conferences provide a valuable opportunity for students to reflect on their learning, share their progress, and take ownership of their goals.

We appreciate your partnership and the role you play in supporting your child’s growth and success. Prairie Creek is a special place because of the strong collaboration between our school and families!

Please take a few minutes to provide feedback on Spring Conferences by completing this District Survey!

MRA Parent Survey

We invite you to participate in our school feedback survey, where you can share insights on several meaningful aspects; including your student's growth, available supports, and areas where we can improve.

Participation in the survey is entirely voluntary, but we encourage at least one member from each household to participate. The parent/guardian survey takes approximately 12 minutes to complete and covers questions about your child's experiences within our school. If you have multiple children at our school, please focus on the oldest child's experiences when answering questions related to growth. Your input is invaluable to us, and we appreciate your feedback in advance!

Kindly complete the survey by March 27th. (MRA Family Survey)

Last year we had 114 families complete the survey - Our goal this year is 200!

Classroom Placements 26-27

Dear Parents & Guardians,

The Prairie Creek Elementary staff will soon start the process of placing students into classrooms for the 2026-27 school year. The class placement decision team consists of myself, counselor, grade level teachers, specialists, interventionists, and if applicable, special education teachers. Each student will be carefully and conscientiously placed into an appropriate classroom.

Students are placed following these considerations:

- an even mix of boys and girls

- an even mix of academic ability levels

- an even mix of social/behavioral skills

- an equivalent number of students in each class at a grade level

- social dynamics between students

- teacher style

As you can see, many variables are taken into consideration to ensure a successful school year for students and for teachers. It is quite a complex process and one the staff takes very seriously. The school will do its best to provide the kind of learning environment that will help your child to have a successful school year.

Although I am unable to consider requests for specific teachers, parents/guardians have the option of providing information regarding their child’s personality and learning style that will be considered during the placement process. If you have information to share that you believe the teacher is not already aware of, please submit a parent information form to me by the end of the day, Monday, March 23, 2026. To request a form please email pces-info@usd230.org.

Even if you filled out this form last year and the information remains the same, please complete it again for this school year.

Please know that all students will be given equal consideration for placement whether a parent information form is filled out or not. Classroom assignments will be announced via Skyward in August.

Sincerely,

Jennie Skibbe

Principal
